The small village church here in Escorca, has its name from its location, at the Coll de Sant Llorenç.
The church is situated somewhere between Cala Tuent and Sa Calobra, and it’s a nice little sight on the hiking or cycling tour.
Back in medieval times, the church of Sant Llorenç, was the only church available to all the small hamlets around in the Tramuntana mountains. People walked for hours, to get here for service on Sundays.
The original church building was built in 1276, while the current construction dates from the 16th century.
